This Claire Pettibone dress is so beautiful. I absolutely loved wearing it and it was perfect for our vintage wedding with the scalloped edge along the hemline and detailed lace covered buttons on the back closure. The train is a delicate sheer lace. We have it set up for a two tiered bustle but it could be bustled any number of ways. It is also incredibly comfortable to wear which was a major plus for me.
Lined in crepe, this Ivory lace gown is lined in all ivory for a classic look versus that nude that you can see of some of the Cheyenne dresses on the Claire Pettibone site. I liked the subtle ivory-on-ivory look and think it will age more timelessly. I also went with a custom v-neck neck line to make this feel a little more natural to my style.
I am not the most graceful but miraculously there are no holes anywhere on this dress after wearing it for my wedding. There is a seam coming open on the side under the arm where I just think my seemstress must not have secured it well enough. If you are having the dress altered at all that should be easily repaired. The dress has been professionally dry cleaned and there do not appear to be any stains on the dress.
I look forward to sharing this dress with another bride to give it a second life. It was everything I wanted in a dress.
